March is Sprinkle Kindness Month at Cake it Forward. We’re spending the whole month encouraging and rewarding acts of kindness.
We love hearing about our customers giving back to the community and buying treats for friends who need a pick-me-up. We’ve decided to spend the month giving prizes to people doing great things in our community. Keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagramto find out how you can win or nominate a friend.
We’ve been working with Kiwi sprinkle company Sugar Lips to develop our own Sprinkle Kindness sprinkle mix, available to buy for a limited time in store and online. We’ve also got a range of sprinkle covered cakes, cupcakes and gifts that you can send to someone to show a little kindness.
We’ve got a great competition for kids. They can colour in a cupcake and tell us about something kind they’ve done and go in the draw to win a cupcake party for six kids, we’ll teach them different piping techniques and make edible slime! We’re also keen to donate a party to a child in our community who might not otherwise have a birthday party this year, whether that’s for financial, health or other reasons. We’ll be asking for nominations throughout the month on our social media.”
We’re passionate about giving back to our community, so we’ll be telling you more about our mahi too, whether that’s donating birthday cakes to people who might miss out or giving a portion of our ice cream sales to our charity of the month. We’re also regular supporters of BirthRight Hutt Valley, Wellington City Mission and Goodtime Music Foundation.
We chose March as Sprinkle Kindness month because it’s the month our mum was born. She taught us the importance of giving back from a young age. She set a great example by helping anyone who needed help and being kind to everyone. It was also her idea to donate birthday cakes to kids with a parent in prison, through Angel Tree. Giving back to our community is our way of remembering Positive Pam!
