Cake care
Please follow these instructions to transport, store and serve your cake.
If you’re collecting your cake, you’ll need to have a flat surface in your car to place it on. The boot or the passenger footwell are best. Do not leave your cake on the seat of your car.
If your cake is covered in white chocolate ganache, it can remain in a cool place for up to 24 hours without refrigeration. If your cake is finished in buttercream please store it in the fridge and take it out one hour before eating.
Please don’t leave your cake in the car or in a warm room, it will melt.
Your cake can be refrigerated and consumed for up to three days after your event. We do not recommend freezing leftover cake.
Below is a cutting guide for serving your cake. If your cake has more than one tier, there will be supports in each tier except the top one. They are usually wooden dowels or plastic straws. Please remove these before serving your cake. Each tier has a cake board at the bottom. There may also be a central support running through your tiers, if so, you can lift each tier up and off before cutting.
Here’s a link on how to cut your cake for maximum serves. Coffee serves a 1 inch x 1 inch, dessert serves are 1 inch x 2 inches.
